Why are GIGA Soaps better than regular soaps?

Our soaps are made with gentle plant oils and essential oils beneficial to the skin, and all contain moisturizing glycerin. Regular store bought soaps are made with pore clogging animal fats, irritating fragrance oils, and harsh preservatives and sudsing agents. You will feel the difference, we guarantee it.

Why are GIGA Soaps more expensive than regular soap?

Our Soaps are made with soothing food grade plant oils from coconut, olives, almonds, grapeseed, wheatgerm and many other plants. We also use expensive plant extracted essential oils. Regular soaps are made with animal by-products and chemicals that can be easily produced in large quantities.

Why are GIGA Soaps great for sensitive skin and people with allergies?

First of all, GIGA Soaps are made with very few ingredients compared to commercial soaps. This decreases the chance that there is an ingredient that can cause allergies. Our Soap Base contains saponified coconut and olive oils. The second reason is that many people are sensitive to the chemicals, preservatives or artificial fragrances that are present in regular soaps but not in GIGA Soaps.

Why do GIGA Soaps contain chemical preservatives?

Yes, we have 2 chemical additives to our soaps -- BHT and EDTA, which act as anti-oxidants. And as compliance with international regulations, these are disclosed in our packaging. This is also the reason you can readily exports these products to the USA, Korea, Australia, etc.
For a product to be considered natural, international standards require at least 85%-100% natural ingredients, depending on the country. Our additives are at 1% (.5% for BHT and .5% for EDTA). The additives are food-grade. You find it in your snack foods, toothpaste some bottled foods, etc.
As mentioned, they act as anti-oxidants. These are needed because 99% of the ingredients are natural (nabubulok). Without these, shelf life becomes very short and may even be altered chemically if exposed to some heat or direct light. In short, it is needed for the integrity of the product.

We can make soaps without these additives but with the humidity in our country and the condition (extreme heat) during transport and warehousing, the soap can go rancid right away and so it may do more harm than good because you may be using compromised products and youare not even aware of it.
Most local manufacturers of natural soaps especially those sold in Bazaars and weekend markets do not disclose properly their ingredients but do contain these additives too.

What is lye or sodium hydroxide? Why does GIGA soaps contain this chemical?

Our soap making process use also sodium hydroxide or lye, which is also disclosed in our soapbox. It is needed to mix the oil and water. This process is called saponification. However, the end product does not contain this chemical anymore since it is spent (used up) in the process. Unspent lye is evident in the soap and is itchy, which is not the case in ours.
